Ecosystem Restoration

ERA works with Municipalities, First Nations and other landowners to restore degraded ecosystems. This initiative has been developed in response to the growing awareness of citizens, businesses, scientists, and governments of the role of healthy ecosystems in addressing climate change.
ERA identifies and prepares degraded ecosystems to allow the planting and monitoring of native trees or other species that have a natural ecological fit for the surrounding area. This work is carried out at no cost to the landowner. ERA’s team consults with the landowner during all stages of the process to ensure that land management and restoration objectives are being met. The cost of this work is covered by the purchase of EcoNeutral Carbon Offsets from ERA by individuals, governments and ethical companies.
The implementation of an ecosystem restoration involves the following steps:
- Identifying suitable restoration sites;
- Conducting biometrics to determine site productivity;
- Developing restoration prescriptions; and
- Implementing those prescriptions.
In addition to addressing all of these needs, ERA will ensure the upkeep and monitoring of these sites at no cost to the community.
Please refer to the Projects section for further information on Community, First Nations and Other ERA ecosystem restoration projects.
